Now a days, everyone is a designer.
I don't knock anyone's hussle but you are not a designer if you are copying off someone else's designs. That in fact makes you a copycat/swagger, jacket/knockoff, etc. Fashion design is meant to be authentic and from the heart. People I know tend to flock to brands with a soul. My favorite designers share my personal philosophy of "when everyone goes right, go left." Stay in your own creative lane. If your lane doesn't exist, make it. Just please don't duplicate. Museum mind Kiki Turner summed up owning your creativity quite well. Menswear line .BK has their own thoughts about fashion and originality, which is why the brand only offers 100 of each style released. This line is for the guy that lets originality dictate his style; definitely add it to the "For My Man" list.
At .Bk, every limited edition shirt comes with a handwritten print number, e.g. 57/100. Every month, a new collection of unique pieces that are never repeated is released. .Bk is an independent brand for men of the digital age. Shirts can be purchased on Kickstarter for $53. Why should you support the brand aside from the merchandise being awesome? The campaign isn't just about raising enough money to make the shirts; it's also about a new beginning. In order to really get started, they need a small community of backers that believes in the vision and the potential of .BK company.
InD Nation is continually expanding because of minds like Teghvir Sethi and companies such as .BK. They can count on my support. What about yours?
