Today is the day!
Today, my baby TailaMade goes live! I've designed the site myself and love where it is right now. There is so much I hope to do, but I want to begin. Rule number one when launching your brand, be ready to get to work on your web site. These days it is your portfolio, digital brick and mortar store, and haven for all your creations. You want every eye you meet to be able to share your vision via your website. I have tried to keep that in mind as I design my brand.
By no means am I a web designer - yet, but there are so many affordable resources available such as Etsy, big cartel, and Shopify that have everything you need to get started. Worse case scenario - super limited budget and you have absolutely no experience nor desire to design your website, head out to a local university's art or graphic design department and see if they are willing to barter and trade services. Get creative; it's good for your brand's back story and it will push you to react in dire situations.
So, for the new eyes visiting Haute Hemisphere, I recently launched a handmade soap line - which I intend to grow into natural skincare and adornments in the future. The product - natural soap spawned from an intense outbreak of hand eczema. I grew up with the pesky skin condition, mainly affecting my legs and arms, but in 2012 I began to experience severe flare ups on my hands. The extreme dryness, chapped, and cracked skin would get so painful it ultimately began to interfere with driving, work, basically my life. As you can imagine, it was bad - looking at my hands tended to hurt my feelings. I got really frustrated with my doctors and dermatologist continually prescribing oral or cream steroids. The recommendation for radiation was the last straw - I decided to take some time away from the doctors. . to just read, and learn about more my body. I found myself reading up on DIY soap recipes, and I have never looked back. What started with melt and pour soap bases has flourished into my passion project business.
Soap making is something that brings me great pleasure as i am able to design formulas and the visual appearance. Learning about the different carrier and essential oils hanging out all around earth is so interesting to me. I fell in love with the art of picking high quality ingredients and blending them together to make a simple luxury bar of soap. Designing my melt and pour soaps is kinda like my thing. All my creations are nature inspired and have some type of ancient Egyptian, Indian, or Native American influence behind them. Styling natural skin solutions has all my attention and my creations are to help those who have issues like me - normal, dry, sensitive and eczema enduring skin conditions. You are not alone, Taila.Made was created with you in mind and is so excited to open its doors' today.
I have always preached prosper in purpose - this is me doing it and hoping you learn from glimpses of my journey. Let's learn together and grow. So please, spreaddd the word my dears, tailamade.com. :) natural soaps and more to come! Check out the site, leave me your thoughts on this post like the facebook page, tell a friend, order some soaps! I will be adding more to the site each week. My goal is to help the hands that order my products so email me what you're looking for at adoretaila.made@gmail.com . I'm all talked out - meet you at the checkout of Tailamade.
