  • In a world filled with never ending craziness. I am thankful for those that bring peace.

Those that invest in a vision, that only they can sometimes see. These peaceful individuals bring emotion, love, and beauty into this world. They deserve great praise. These spirits can be seen in every profession, all across the world - and when I come across them I have to share their story. Like Annie Lee - a legend in African american art. Known for her faceless paintings, she strove for her audience to feel the emotion within in her artwork.

I am personally inspired by her story -She would work by day. . and paint by night. Painting was her peace and refuge from the mundane routine of her day job. Her grind lead to one of her famous paintings, "Blue Monday" which depicts a woman on the side of her bed first thing on a Monday morning. How many of us can relate - raises both hands. She continued to paint as well as work until the loss of her son in 1986. It was during the hardest period of her life - that she found her strength and took a step out on faith. She lived the rest of her life prospering in purpose and earning her place as one of the most iconic artists of our race. Her paintings are magnets that radiate everyday tales. Take a look below, feel her work. . and then perhaps share with those inspired by color, texture. . and life.

Sleep in Peace Annie Lee - your legacy will continue through your art.

These paintings are amazing, I'm sure everyone can identify with her, having had a Blue monday, or having to tear their shoes off after work.
