There is nothing like getting lost in a good book. I find when I need to be inspired, I either search for tranquil scenery to allow my thoughts to roam in space, or I lose myself in a book and see what kind of thoughts I have floating around once completed. Peaceful brainstorming if you will.Writing has always played a major role in my life when it comes to personal expression. One of my favorite childhood memories is that my mom would write bedtime stories for my brother and me. And, she would encourage us to embellish them.

As I grew up, I found myself writing whenever I wanted a glimpse into my dreams. My stories were often about designers or clothing store owners, who lived the way I dreamed my future would be.Each plot was similar in that it was a strong queen who conquered fashion or interior design in some way. I have a pretty one track mind I guess you could say.
Anywho, my stories continued and my love of books made space for magazines. The sensation I get everytime I hold a magazine and experience the fashions on each page flipping through the first time,is invigorating. It brings a feeling of inclusion, because every page is filled with an individual's creative point of view; something I have been looking to express these last 24 years. I enjoy creating awareness about a brand or one's individual's visual story and trademark on the world.
To design is one of my dreams but capturing the stories of those who have already done so, is my
passion. I love to learn and then share knowledge with those trying to find their way to the dream God gave them. All of this leads to why I've looked up to Anna Wintour since high school. If you know me, you know I always think I can keep up with the boys when it comes to business. I'm quiet but very confident when it's comes to strategy and combine that with my passion. The top is my only destination. Anna Wintour embodies the epitome of the BOSS in my eyes. The Editor- in -Chief of Vogue for years, she has been the pioneer, founder, and now is the hierarch of American fashion publications.

Her presence has had me infatuated with the idea of becoming an Editor-In-Chief. As I venture into my mid twenties, I'm finding that mentors are important. If you aren't able to find one, books make a great second place. Read about the people you love to follow. Learn how they made their dreams realities and apply what you can to your plan.
After two weekends stuck in the pages between the front and back covers of Anna Wintour's biography, some say she's cold. The book does a good job painting a picture about the experiences that contribute to this impression. Reading about the beast within the beauty has really inspired the inner editor in myself. If you know me, it makes sense; and if you don't, sometime in the future I'll share with you why I say that.
Front Row: Anna Wintour: What Lies Beneath the Chic Exterior of Vogue's Editor in Chief (2006) by Jerry Oppenheimer has me claiming my path with renewed confidence. Mark my words, Editor-In-Chief will be an offical title I'll hold . . in the near future. For now, it's back to the books.
What books are you reading that have you ready to take on the world?
Share them below, I'll definetly check them out.
