What will you do this weekend? Me, after celebrating my 25th birthday to the max tomorrow, I'll be creating a vision board. Most of you reading this have heard of a vision board or have made one a time or two in your life. A vision board is used to help set intentions. I made one every other year in high school and college but I have come to the realization they were more of a vision of my style as oppose to my future. At this point in my life I am aware of my personal energy and am beginning to understand the concept of the law of attraction as well as what my inner voice really means. Long story short, my subconscious is yelling at the top of it's lungs regarding my purpose, and there aren't enough hours in the day for me to get it all out and on paper. Ironically, as much as I love to write, I also love images and non verbal communication. I have been vigorously sketching and jotting down ideas for launching my own accessories line and perhaps taking it a step further, but in order to focus all my thoughts, I need to create a visual reminder.
I suggest if you are in the process of building on your dream, a vision board can be the perfect first level to your foundation. It's a super simple, inspiring and encouraging activity to get your wheels turning on the direction you want to see your life/business go in. It is empowering to come to the realization that you create your own life. So make it good, make it above average, make it you to the core, because your purpose is an extension of you. Go all out. Ok enough with this introduction let's get to how to make one.. .
Please use my material suggestions as a starting point. This activity is meant to get super creative and in touch with you and your vision. If you are looking to get really deep with this board, Martha Beck a writer for Oprah magazine , has an awesome Vision Board 101 article to help you ,dig deep.
This weekend I will make mine on a poster board, I've made one with a cork board and I've seen them done on bare walls. Make your vision yours, just make sure once your finish, it is in a spot you see constantly. Daily if possible, you need to be in the presence of your goals for at least 10 minutes a day. Five minutes to look it over and get inspired and five minutes to think of what you can be doing to make your pictures experiences. Okay . . . on to the fun part!!
