So for 2014 I made a personal vow to find my peaceful center to balance my aggressive entrepreneurial side. As you remember though, I am saving up to move toward building my business. Therefore, I challenged myself to find free classes and activities to replace a gym membership fee but to still push me to network and venture into new areas of life. My starting point, was a free yoga class at my local library last night.
An hour of soothing background sounds, a peaceful instructor, dim lights, slow stretches and meditation was just what I needed. I am now officially hooked and so proud of myself for finally venturing out to a class to try. My motto for this year is 'just try it' when it comes to stepping out my comfort zone. We ended the class with eight minutes of meditation where you were to stay completely still. Allowing yourself to be in the moment and really engage with your body and mind is a moving experience, worth trying.
Let me be the friend to suggest doing something for your mind and spirit this year. We rush around life building dreams and sometimes forget to breathe. Part of the creative process I'm learning is exposing yourself to new ideas, thoughts, cultures and concepts. No matter how big or small, if something interests you, stands out, or you find yourself passionate for, it is not random. Your purpose is intentionally giving you signs. Take time to be aware, your "ahhh- ha" moment may be closer than you think.
