  • Muslim women inspire me.

The ones I have had the pleasure of being around have been quiet, beautiful, and remind me of modern day goddesses. I believe all women are queens, but women of the Muslim community dress as such- everyday. Aesthetically, I love the warm color combinations worn in multiple layers combined with breathtaking gems and jewelry. Queen like, wouldn't you agree.

My wander lusting spirit longs to travel to the Middle East in order to learn all I can about their clothing, what inspires the different silhouettes, and how it's manufactured. I also would love a dress or two for myself. Thanks to DKNY, it seems as though obtaining the look I love so much, may not involve me making my trip to the Middle East-yet. Styled by two middle eastern Muslim women creatives, Yalda Golsharifi, fashion editor at Styles magazine, and fashion designer Tamara Al Gabbani, DKNY launched  Ramadan Summer June 30th.
The collection pays homage to the Muslim culture with flowy mid to maxi length skirts, modest neck and hemlines, and tasteful layering. I am in LOVE with this collection.

Not only do I applaud DKNY for bringing awareness to the modern Muslim queen, but also for launching just in time for Ramadan (Which started June 29 this year and runs until July 29th) Check out the Look Book below.

Share your thoughts on this collection. Do you expect to see more Muslim inspired collections for the summer and fall?
