So this weekend, I got out and sold my soaps.
Unfortunately, the rain decided to, for the first time in weeks, come out to play, causing the bazaar I was participating in to be a little slower than planed. I can't really complain though, I made a few sales, and a few friends. One being Joshua Toritto, a fellow creative capable of observing real life which he can then translate into a beautiful language we like to refer to as art. His collection of work was full of life and humor, and passion, I had to share. So, first a little background and then a glimpse into his personal art gallery.
Joshua is an artist who has received his education through the Perkins Center of the Arts. As he finds most modern cartoons and portraits to be somewhat lacking in the simplicity or humor that their predecessors possessed, Joshua’s overall style and feel to each piece, in a sense, serves as a means of remedying this; yet still exhibits a unique, rawer look. Joshua hopes that by creating such artwork, he fills all those who look upon it with a simple joy and nostalgia for art of yesteryear.
