I've been soaping, I've been soaping . (In my best Beyoncé voice)
The last few weeks have been pretty low key as I build my site from the ground up. My favorite part about new business development is branding as it tells the story of the product and creator. To love a brand is to love the story behind it. Taila.Made is a plethora of inspiration derived from ancient Egyptian and Indian civilizations merged with Mother Nature and Native American philosophies, which all need to be communicated, simply. It is quite a process. I'm really enjoying it.
While focusing on the identity, I am also finalizing the core products to debut on the site October 27th the set launch date! My nights are full of soap making, picture taking and product details updating. When not giving my attention to Taila.Made solely, I have been working diligently on my natural skincare formulation studies. I have been taking a six week course to learn the science behind skincare formulations so I am able to create my own recipes for soaps and body butters. I've learned so much and have been finalizing my formulations to send in so I will be certified in natural skincare formulation. A big part of my business philosophy is to always stay abreast of trends in natural skincare industries as well as continue to educate myself in essential oils, high performance ingredients and alternative practices for the best skin possible.
During the first couple of weeks in business, I have learned the importance of having a soaper network where I am able to learn from other creativeprenuers and share my concerns/frustrations. Also reading is playing a huge role in my daily duties. It is my mission to learn all the herbs and oils best suited for dry, aging and eczema enduring skin types all the while putting my knowledge into the soaps I'm creating. Day by day I gain more clarity and organization within my budding business, and am looking forward to the website launch, some new vending opportunities and venturing into debuting some of my body butter formulations. Every accomplishment at this point is major and keeps me motivated for the next step.
As I narrow down my core product line, I am honing in on my essential inventory needs so that I can keep them stocked in the studio during high volume months, such as the Christmas season we are going into. The oil atop of my list currently is Apothecary Extracts, 100% Australian Tea Tree Oil . Shipped in a generous 4 fl oz Amber bottle, this oil has become one of my favorites. A natural antiseptic this oil is great for facial soaps or for use on acne or ingrown hairs. Courtesy of the free e- book included with purchase- this oil also alleviates toenail fungus, lice, yeast infections, skin tags, cold sores, dandruff, ringworm, fleas, warts, Eczema, and more. One can use Tea Tree oil to make your own shampoo, lotion, soap, face cleaner, body wash, and toothpaste. The smell tends to be rather strong for my taste, but can be dulled when mixed with other essential oils or ingredients like raw honey. A must have in my oil rack and one of the secret ingredients to my man's beard oil. When you order an Apothecary Extracts Tea Tree oil you get an awesome Free E recipe book so you can get started incorporating the many benefits of tea tree oil into your life. Now that I have tea tree oil, I'm patiently waiting for them to release others. Share your thoughts and favorite recipes using Tea Tree Oil below!
