Not everyone is deemed best dressed in fourth grade like Autumn Adeigbo. After earning degrees in economics from Spelman and fashion design at Parsons, she worked for Betsey Johnson and Anna Sui. I am inspired by her desire to create a more cultural, colorful, and conscious world through her pieces. She fulfilled her mission with the inception of Autumn Adeigbo. Each piece sold sends a percentage to Africa.
Autumn is a partner of the NGO, Women for Women International, which empowers female survivors of war in Nigeria, Rwanda, and the DR of the Congo. You've seen stars such as Soloange Knowles, Elle Varner, and Julianne Moore in her pieces. Adeigbo plays with a lot of African prints, embroidery, and textured textiles.
I love that Adeigbo was discovered through a natural or organic process and has received press coverage from multiple sources as one to watch. If you consider yourself sophisticated, colorful, and a forward thinker, Adeigbo is calling your name.
