I have dedicated my 2014 to smarter savings and building dreams and adventures with the ones I love. The universe appears to be in line with my inner visions and has been creating opportunities left and right. After bringing in the New Year with my hunni, we had the ultimate heart to heart on finances in the New Year and our goal to move, travel and go to school. Major expenses require us to have major savings. With money all on my mind, I was stoked to find the #Frugalfab5, Tiff the Budgetnista, Victoria and Tonya of my fab fico, Marsha_finance101, financial literacy coach, and Kara of the Frugal Feminista, were hosting an awesome New Year New Money twitter chat last night.
While riding on the train from New York back to Jersey, I read along and jotted down neat little ideas for saving cash. Victoria of myfabfico even touched on how to negotiate your salary if you’re planning on switching gigs in the New Year. Know your worth, and know what you have in your wallet is the name of the game. Thanks to the #FRUGALfab5, I now have a money motto to carry me through 2014, “Only buy what you need.” I’m feeling more confident on saving in the New Year. One of the participants suggested the Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey, and being on the same page as your partner when it comes to finances. I couldn't agree more.
These chats are awesome, I suggest to the ones who put having more money as one of their resolutions to pop in and see what tips you can learn to help you on your financial journey. They #FRUGALfab5 host them every first Thursday of the month.Or, if you don’t have time for the chat just check out the hosts’ websites. These women are amazing money mentors and want to help you amass all the cash you can. Take a look at the little list I took from the chat. Do you have any suggestions to add? If so please share!
