We made it through the madness of black Friday. Although I vowed I wouldn't do any shopping on my first Black Friday not working in retail, the hunni, got me to meet him in the city for a little his and her shopping. Not to be mistaken with Christmas shopping! Terrible, yes. So, I am using today through the 24th, to make my Christmas shopping list and have everyone crossed off, prior to my usual Christmas Eve shopping mania.
I want to help you narrow down some items for the loved ones on your list. What better way to show someone you care than with a piece of jewelry made from a project benefiting those in need. By listening to my heart, I try to weave philanthropy into fashionable products.
For the last week I have been rocking The Base Project's Kalahari Eye bracelet. Symbolically, the Kalahari Eye is an honorary nod to the watchful eyes of Namibia's wildlife conditioned to withstand the harsh, unforgiving climate of the Kalahari Desert. Each day I've worn it, I have rocked it a different way; with a gold watch, wooden bracelets, and chain hand pieces. Every way looks awesome. I have to stock up on more. The upcycled hand made jewelry is unique, fun to wear, and makes great gifts for work, friends or family.
The Base Project is a socially-motivated fashion brand building a bridge between artisans in the developing world and the US fashion market. Through their fashion products The Base Project creates jobs and invests in community development projects. Their debut collection of 14 unisex pieces are available now. Once you buy one, you'll most likely want another; so why not get two for yourself and one for a friend or vice versa? The holiday season is about giving. Why not give a gift to both a friend and the artisan who created the gift?
As a huge fan of stacking bangles, which bracelets would you group together? Let me know below.
Happy Shopping!
