  • Taking a stab in the dark here but I'm going to say I'm not the only young woman in her mid twenties who still finds herself confused about makeup trends and application. Despite growing up a girl I was never granted the instinctive know how when it came to  applying my own makeup. Well ladies, I've got your back and have sought out an indie M.U.A.s (Make Up Artist) to talk eyeshadow basics and give insight into her  favorite beauty trends .

Makeup trends clothes, shoes, and accessories are all bound together. The final product flows seamlessly  with the use of makeup, so lets get to updating the cosmetic bag with tools suggested by a professional.

Danielle Dixon, has been a friend to the world of beauty since childhood. She possesses an aura of confidence and has a bunch of beauty know how. Danielle encourages ladies to use colors on all complexions and is inspired by all things beautiful; learn from her.

HH:When did you and the beauty world first become acquainted?
DD: I would say the beauty industry and I have been aquatinted since I was a little girl. I've always been fascinated with anything dealing with hair and makeup.

HH: How would you describe your signature look? What sets your style apart from others ?
DD:My signature look would have to be my ever changing hairstyles in crazy colors. I also love to add beauty marks to most of my makeup looks to give that 50's pin up feel.

HH: When it comes to everyday makeup application, what are some common mistakes you see?
DD: The most common mistakes I see in everyday makeup is the way people apply their eyeshadow. Many complain about color pay off with shadow, its all about using an actual eyeshadow brush. This is not the little cotton tip applicator that comes on most pallets. To get the right color pay off blend, use eyeshadow primer to prevent shadow from blowing off through out the day.

HH: What's your most valuable beauty tip ?
DD: Other than the eyeshadow tip, I would say using a lip liner with lipsticks especially if you are a beautiful brown complexion wanting to wear a bright pink but are a little afraid. Adding a soft brown lip liner with any lipstick will soften any bright color lipstick.

HH: Who in the world of beauty inspires you ?
DD: Honestly everyone in the world of beauty inspires me. Wether it's a celebrity, celebrity MUAs, fashion designers, or a fellow MUA. We all learn, take from, and give to each other inspiration.

HH: What products are your favorites?
DD:I love it all and use it all! drugstore brands and high end! My favorite products right now are M.A.C studio fix fluid, M.A.C up the amp lipstick, Loreal anti aging concealer, and wet n wild dollhouse pink lipstick. My favs change monthly.

HH:What products do you think should be in every woman's purse ?
DD: Every woman should have in her purse: lipgloss/lipstick of the day for touch ups, blotting papers, Chapstick, pressed powder for makeup touch ups, body lotion, and deodorant.

HH:What makeup trends are you loving for Spring/Summer 13?
DD: I'm loving the nude or bare eyes with or without cat style eyeliner and a poppin bright lip for summer of 2013!

HH:Where can people follow you and your beauty knowledge?
DD: You can follow me on Instagram hollywood_mermaid, YouTube channel coming real soon so follow me for updates. :)
