I was in the zone this weekend.
Made a new batch of Cold Process Olive oil soap, worked on my business plans, had a blast with my Mr,. and even got in some painting. Yes, my childhood was spent dreaming of being a little Lois Mailou Jones, but that talent was not a part of my DNA. However, I had ordered some awesome little wooden bangles a while back and figured this weekend was a good time to finally paint them. Jewelry, soaping, and blogging are my releases; time flies by when I'm engaged in the process, nothing worries me I just create. It's one of the most empowering and relaxing feelings ever.
My late afternoon nap kept me up into the wee hours of Sunday morning, so I took advantage of being up and decided to finally . . get my paint on. I was really inspired by the dress I used for my Dream Closet set last week and used it for my inspiration piece. Burberry's Fall 2014 Collection was one of my fashion week favs because of the gorgeous floral watercolor work. It was original, contemporary, and fresh for a Fall design. I wanted to incorporate it into my life before I have the budget to afford the original dress. So I painted. My paint brush stroked a page in the tablet and then moved on to the first bracelet, my eyes jumping from the computer screen to the bracelet and back. I let go of all the responsibilities I was thinking about pertaining to my life and just got lost in the early moments of Sunday morning, and it felt great. Not only was I able to get some mental clarity, my bracelets turned out stunning! Not quite Burberry, but definitely Taila Jenelle. Proud little designer right here, I can't wait to pair these with tan khakis, and a loose white button up shirt.
